UKEMS, NordEMS, MEG & IGG 2008 International Joint Congress
After the success of the 2007 conference we have just completed a second conference with UKEMS. Every year the event has a different local organiser, so UKEMS have found using Affinity particularly useful in terms of guaranteeing quality, professionalism and ensuring that continuity is maintained. This year in order to enable UKEMS to save on the budget UKEMS provided a number of volunteers to work within the Affinity team reducing the onsite staffing requirement and therefore overall cost.
The four day event involved 130 delegates, an exhibition, poster display and conference dinner. Affinity handled all logistics including registration, abstract management, technical, printing, accommodation, transport, venue liaison and on the day management.

Affinity Events have just been appointed the event management agency to oversee a new festival for London, taking place this summer. With just 12 weeks notice, we have been tasked with providing all event and production management for this 3,500 capacity event. We are working with Action Against Hunger (the promoters) and Subway® the main sponsors to make the event one to remember.

The Association for Coaching is a long standing client of Affinity Events and we were delighted to be involved in their expanded UK conference again this year. We provided delegate registration, onsite delegate services and onsite management. We also provided a specialist in technical services who supported the 30+ speakers in their power point and video presentations resulting in a smooth and stress-free conference for the speakers and conference organisers

This month has seen us out at events for one of our newer clients - Kenneth Copeland Ministries. Although we’ve been working on the planning for these two events for over a year, this is the first time we’ve been live, out at an event with them. This is also a new endeavour for KCM, who have never worked with an event management agency before. We were onhand to provide venue, logistics, delegate management (both pre-event and onsite) and technical production management for these two, three day events.
The first event took place at the Bournemouth International Centre (UK) and was attended by over 2,500 delegates over the course of the three days. Affinity worked closely with the European and US teams to deliver the event. Once over, we packed everything into two 40ft artic lorries, and waved them goodbye - only to follow them to Basel in Switzerland two days later.
The Basel venue worked just as well as Bournemouth, and despite the language barrier (which we overcame in the end) the 1200 delegates enjoyed another great event.

Over the last 12 months (4 events) Affinity Have worked with AQS in vastly improving the look and professionalism of their events to match their expansions in existing markets, new sectors and internationally in the US. Their events are now very different from when we first started working together in 2005, and are indicative of the ways in which Affinity can help to raise the bar in this type of corporate event.
The most recent AQS event comprised the usual one day Franchisee meeting, a one day marketing training session and a full gala dinner with evening entertainment. Again Affinity Events sourced the venue, provided production services and onsite management.

Church Army celebrated 125 years and held a service in St Mary’s Kensington London. Affinity provided the technical support for Tim Hughes and his band and all the AV support for the DVD’s to show the work of the society over the years.

When Limehouse Arts Foundation organised the UK exhibition of Paolo Chiasera’s Tupacproject Affinity Events were the natural choice for technical support. Working to tight timescales and in a challenging environment; we provided technical support including outdoor display and architectural lighting for this Art Project. During this project we worked with the curator to ensure that things were done in harmony with the purpose of the work.

Affinity were appointed by the Lambeth Conference Organisers to look after all the Infrastructure at the University of Kent in Canterbury and to provide on going event management support to the Lambeth Secretariat as the build to the conference starts now and then will roll out during July and August 2008.

Despite taking over Cardiff City Centre for Christian Aid, we were also working in another venue on the same day – this time continuing our close relationship with Cardiff University. Our conference team have been working for over a year on the preparations for this international conference which took place at Cardiff City Hall and the Museum of Cardiff.
The four day event for 450 delegates, saw Affinity manage all aspects of the event – from delegate management and online bookings to dealing with the production of delegate badging, technical production and onsite management. We also helped to floor manage the conference dinner which took place one evening during the event.
